Saluting Our Heroes: AF Gives Back

May is Military Appreciation Month and all 15 of our Alltown Fresh stores collaborated together to raise awareness and donations for four veteran’s organizations through the sales of our very popular Taco Special, specifically highlighted and promoted that month.  This first-ever charitable initiative was a great success!  A portion of the sales from this month-long special were recently donated to:  CT Fallen Heroes, MA Fallen Heroes, NH Chapter of Honor And Remember, and NY Chapter of Honor And Remember.

To kick off this initiative, we invited members of these groups to an Alltown Fresh near them to meet our teams, learn about the promotion, and taste our delicious tacos.  Friendships were formed as some of our team members shared their family military background with these fellow veterans.  We also met Gold Star Families who shared their personal stories and thanked our teams for this charitable initiative.  The resounding note was one of deep gratitude for what we were doing for them and for not forgetting our veterans and their service.  Geraldine Duncan, our NH contact, shared this:  “Great picture! I really did get a sense when in the Nashua location that the employees enjoyed working at Alltown Fresh. They seemed very proud to share the Honor And Remember mission and participate in raising funds.  Looks like these employees feel the same way!  Keep spreading such positivity.”

Recently, we were able to meet with all four groups and present each one with a donation of $500.00!  Now that’s a lot of tacos for an amazing cause!  It was an honor to be able to support these four vital groups and express our gratitude to them the way we know how…through food.  We are looking forward to doing this again next year.  Thank you for the support!
